Accessories include scopes, magazines,
straps, bags, cases and much more! I had a
hard time changing anything on the Softail , because Bruce and I
have basically the same likes and dislikes. The basic families
of Harley Davidson motorcycles include Touring, Softails, Dynas,
V-rods and Sportsters. There are many variations within the
different families.

Harley Davidson Heritage
Softail: The motorcycle is a 2002 Harley
Davidson Heritage Softail Classic (FLSTC). A friend of
mine was the second owner of this bike . He bought it
approx 3 years ago. He purchased it from a friend on the
spur of the moment. He soon realized that he didn't want
all of the leather bags and passenger seat. The Harley
that he should have bought was the Softail Fatboy (FLSTF)
this is the bike made popular by Arnold Schwarzenegger
in the movie Terminator 2.That is the bike he takes from
the biker at the bar. |

In the world of Harley, for
the most part a Softail ,is a Softail, is a Softail.
Meaning that if you have a Softail you can transform it
into another variation of a Softail. So my friend
purchased the sheet metal that he wanted along with
several other pieces to make it "his own". A person can
go to a Harley shop to buy a brand new motorcycle, get
the badest boy on the block, right now it would be a
Screaming Eagle variation of the different "families" of
motorcycles and he will change something or add a piece
of chrome to make it "his own" before he takes delivery.
That is just a part of the Harley Davidson culture. |

My friend that I got this "scooter" from was born in
1955, so he decided to go with 1955 vintage looking
parts, note the raised metal Harley logos on the sides
of the fuel tank. He took a Heritage Softail Classic and
turned it into a nostalgic Fatboy. I call the creation a
Fat Heritage. I always name my motorcycles. I also have
a 1997 Electra-glide Classic her name is "Carmen Electra
Glide". I bought this one from my friend Bruce Bohler, I have
named it "The Bohler Express". |
